Dr. Hill’s Family Dental PLLC

Effective Date: August 1, 2026
Last Updated: August 24, 2026

Dr. Hill’s Family Dental PLLC (“Dr. Hill’s Family Dental,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at drhillsfamilydental.com (the “Site”), contact us through the Site, request an appointment, or otherwise interact with us online. Please read this policy carefully.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our Site and other online interactions. It does not govern protected health information (“PHI”) that we collect, use, or disclose in connection with providing dental care. The handling of PHI is governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and is described separately in our Notice of Privacy Practices, available at our office and, where applicable, on this Site. Where information collected online also constitutes PHI, our HIPAA obligations and Notice of Privacy Practices control.

By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you provide to us. We collect information you voluntarily give us — for example, when you complete a contact form, request or schedule an appointment, join a new-patient or VIP interest list, ask a question, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, the reason for your inquiry, appointment preferences, and any other details you choose to include in your message.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits. We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and Tracking Technologies” below).

Appointment reminder consent. If you opt in, we collect your consent to send appointment reminders, confirmations, and related communications by email and text message (see “Mobile Information and Text Messaging” below).

Please do not submit detailed medical or dental history, diagnoses, or other sensitive health information through the Site’s contact or appointment-request forms. If you need to share such information, please contact our office directly by phone.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

– Respond to your inquiries, questions, and requests;
– Schedule, confirm, and manage appointment requests;
– Send appointment reminders, confirmations, and updates by phone, email, or text message, where you have provided that information and opted in for that purpose;
– Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services;
– Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve its content and performance;
– Send you practice updates, promotions, or new-patient information where you have requested them or otherwise consented to receive them; and
– Comply with applicable laws and enforce our legal rights.

3. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and tags) to function properly, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the Site is used. Cookies are small data files stored on your device.

We use these technologies for purposes including basic Site functionality, analytics and performance measurement, and, where applicable, advertising and remarketing. Third-party services we use for these purposes may include Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and — in connection with our advertising — Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising tools.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting or blocking them, though disabling certain cookies may affect how the Site functions. To learn how Google uses data and how to opt out of Google Analytics, please visit Google’s privacy and opt-out resources.

4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

Service providers. We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, form processing and automation, analytics, online scheduling, and communications. These providers may include our website host (SiteGround), our analytics provider (Google), and our form-automation provider (Zapier and connected tools such as Google Sheets and Slack used to route and store form submissions). These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a lawful government request.

Business transfers. If our practice is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your consent.

5. MOBILE INFORMATION AND TEXT MESSAGING

When you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, you consent to receive text (SMS) messages from us, such as appointment reminders, confirmations, and related communications. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and reply HELP for help. Opting out of text messages will not affect our ability to contact you by other means about your care.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

6. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND LINKS

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as our online scheduling tool or social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

7. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You share information with the Site at your own risk.

8. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

9. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. Parents and guardians may contact us to request or schedule care for their children; any such information is provided by the parent or guardian, not collected directly from the child. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information through the Site, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Information collected to provide care to a minor patient is PHI governed by HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, not this Policy.

10. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

Marketing communications. You may opt out of promotional emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us. You may opt out of appointment-related text messages by replying STOP. We may still send you non-promotional messages related to your inquiries or appointments.

Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings as described above.

Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is not yet a common industry standard for responding to these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them.

Access and requests. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the information below, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.

11. PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION (HIPAA)

As noted above, this Privacy Policy addresses information collected through the Site and does not govern PHI. Our collection, use, and disclosure of PHI in the course of providing dental services is governed by HIPAA and described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. If any provision of this Policy conflicts with our Notice of Privacy Practices with respect to PHI, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and post the updated policy on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

13. GOVERNING LAW

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
